I had the privilege of covering the 100th Bugle Band Contest from both the ground and the air, capturing one of Cornwall's most treasured traditions. In April, we used the DJI Matrice 30T drone to capture 1,476 photos of the Duke of Cornwall Masonic Lodge roof, creating a precise 3D model with WebODM. This tech helped us safely measure the aging roof’s size and height without walking on it. Operating in Newquay Airport’s flight restriction zone required prior permission and coordination with air traffic. Technology made the job safer and easier!
